18 – 20 September – Sundown National Park

Trip Details: After meeting at Aratula on Friday night we will travel to Stanthorpe to top up fuel and then turn right at Ballandean toward Sundown National Park. We will Air down where the road turns to dirt and make our way into the park which is roughly 1 hour of slow road through the twisting mountains (approx 3 hours travel, 175km)
Saturday will be a lazy start, around 9am we will jump into our vehicles to complete Rat’s Castle loop. This trail varies in difficulty however does have ways around obstacles with 2 technical creek crossings. Should take around 3 hours to complete. For the afternoon we will head up to the Red Rock Gorge lookout.
Sundown NP is a rugged wilderness area of spectacular sharp ridges and steep-sided gorges.
The Severn River and its tributaries, woodland birds and remains of pastoral and mining heritage can be discovered via maintained walking tracks.
There are also, challenging remote walks & four-wheel-drive (4WD) tracks.
Bring your cold weather camping gear, sturdy shoes, drinking water and FIREWOOD.
There are pit toilets at the campground. This camp is suitable for off-road camper trailers.
As mentioned above this is an extreme remote area. Please check that your vehicle is in sound condition prior to departure.
3-5 October – Landcruiser Mountain Park

Trip Details: Come and join us on “The Queen’s Birthday Long Weekend” for 3 days of wheeling at the iconic Landcruiser Mountain Park located near Jimna QLD. Over the course of the weekend we will tackle various medium – difficult 4wd tracks around the park. Camping will be at our usual place “The Gums”, where toilets and showers are available. Firewood is available for collection throughout the park.
Please bring sufficient food, water & camping gear for the duration of the trip.
Oct 30 to Nov 1 – Halloween Camp – Stradbroke Island

Trip Details: This trip is a relaxing long weekend away to Straddie with simple 4wding and more about beach time. Planned excursions will be the tripod track down to Main Beach and if the tracks are reopened we will look at the Keyholes track. We will visit the usual spots for swims and walks including Point Lookout, Amity Point, Keyholes, Cylinder Beach, Brown Lake, Blue Lake. These will be run as excursions which you are able to join onto for the day if you wish.
Itinerary – this is subject to change dependent on weather and sand conditions so will be updated closer to the leaving date.

Getting There: Please book your own ferry tickets to and from the Island via this link to Stradbroke Ferries. Please check the website for all details including price, address at Cleveland, time to arrive before departure and all amenities onboard. Travel time is 45-50mins.
Stradbroke Ferries has a number of times to and from the island with varying prices for peak times. I am booking the following
Friday 30 October – 7am Ferry from Cleveland to Dunwich
Sunday 01 November – 5pm Ferry from Dunwich to Cleveland
If you are arriving on a different ferry then please contact me on the day to work out the best meet up time and place

Stradbroke Ferries Cost varies $75-$86 one way = $150-$172 return + more if you are oversized or towing
