Trip Details: Starting at Laceys creek road in the southern end of the Park, heading north Range Road forest drive through Jacky Creek Road towards A Break, after stopping for lunch at The Gantry Picnic area, heading north along the Western Escarpment forest drive to drive the tracks in the north west of the park, then looping back to the Gantry to head home back through Mt Mee and Dayboro.

Trip Details: Come join us for the weekend to take in a scenic drive through the Brisbane Valley followed by an overnight camp at Kilkivan Bush Camp – 577 Rossmore Rd. Kilkivan. The drive from Dayboro to Kilkivan will take us over Mt Mee and along dirt and gravel roads with the occasional shallow water crossing. This trip is suitable for all stock or modified Jeeps and is suitable for off road caravans & off road campers. The Journey to Kilkivan is approx. 240km and pending stops should take approx. 5 – 6 hours. We will also be stopping along the way, so don’t forget to bring your chairs and a picnic lunch.
The onsite facilities at Kilkivan Bush Camp include toilets, showers, drinking water and shops.

August Club Camp – Fraser Island Fri 23 to Mon 26 August 2019

Trip Rating: Medium. Vehicles will need good height clearance. Anyone who is inexperienced at beach driving please contact me ahead of date.

Meeting Place and Time: Friday 23 August, North bound Burpengary BP/McDonalds Bruce Highway. It’s the next service exit just past Exit 146.
Time: Meet time & briefing 7am. Leaving time at 7.30am SHARP!
Approx Finish Time: Departing Monday 26th and back to Rainbow Beach around 3-4pm. You can leave Sunday if you want.

Itinerary – this is subject to change dependent on weather and sand conditions so will be updated closer to the leaving date.
Friday Day 1 – 2.5 hour drive to Rainbow Beach where we will fuel up and then to Inskip Point to air down just before the beach entry. We will need to cross Eli Creek by 12pm due to changed driving conditions recently. We will set up camp at Dundubara and then come back down to spend the arvo at Eli Creek and then come back to camp to see the sunset over the dune behind camp or drive to a western beach for sunset.
Saturday Day 2 – Lake Mackenzie, Central Station, Lake Wabby sandboarding – Optional Pub Dinner at Happy Valley dependent on the tides. Please bring a dinner to cook in case this does not go ahead.
Sunday Day 3 – Whale watching at Indian Head, Champagne Pools, Sandy Point
Monday Day 4 – Possible Head back via Northern Scenic route via Lake Allom or optional western beach visit to Woralie Creek to be decided closer to date
Camping Information: Camping at Dundubara will need to be booked in advance.. Please make yourself aware of the camping conditions on this link.
Facilities: Fuel and shop items are available at Cathedrals which is close to camp but at a higher price than the mainland. It is likely you will need to fuel up once on the trip so bring your own Jerry can if you wish.
