Australia Day long weekend camp –
The Springs 4×4 Park
Saturday 26 – Monday 28 January

$105 – 2 nights, 3 days; $65 – 1 night, 2 days

Trip Details: A fun filled weekend for all those who love off-road challenges. There will be plenty of tracks with all types of obstacles including ruts, steep ascents and descents and creek runs. Park Map

EXPERIENCE DAY
Janowen Hills 4wd Park
Saturday 9 February

This experience day is running parallel to our February Janowen Hills Club Camp so everyone is most welcome to camp over. If you and your vehicle are capable of some more challenging runs, you will be able to join the experienced members and head out on a run on Sunday morning as well (at the trip leaders discretion).

4WDing: Day only $25 OR Weekend (or 2-8 days) $30
Camping: Adults: $15.00/person/night, Children (5 – 15 years): $7.00/person/night, Children (under 5 years): No charge

Facilities:
Septic toilets and hot showers are on site. Rubbish bins are also provided.
Showers require a token for operation, which may be purchased from the shop. 1 Token gives 3 minutes operation at $1.00 each.

Trip Details: This trip will cater for all models of Jeeps, stock or not and is targeted for new members/visitors wishing to join the club. We will cover a number of theory based topics as well practical driving skills over the course of the day.

Theory components cover many aspects of driving, some of these subjects include:

• Vehicle types and capabilities
• How a 4WD works
• Tyre selection, inflation and use
• Pre-trip and during trip vehicle equipment and safety inspections
• Environmental Awareness
• Different techniques for driving in varying terrains

The practical component will give the participants the opportunity to learn and experience all of the different aspects of basic 4WDing in the field. Some of the topics covered on the weekend training include:

• Principles of 4WDriving
• Stop stall key start recoveries
• Driving up and down moderate inclines
• Driving techniques for different terrains
• Approach, departure and ramp over angles
• Driving on side slopes
• Snatch strap recoveries
• Driving to cause minimal environmental impact
• Using Convoy Procedure

February Club Camp –

Trip Details: Come join us for the day or for the weekend and tackle the challenges that one of our favourite 4×4 parks has to offer. Janowen has a variety of tracks and levels of difficulty including the wombat holes, creeks, gullies, step ups, steep ascents and descents etc. and the waterfall. Relax by the campfire at night and enjoy the company of your fellow Jeepers.

March day trip or Camp – Double Island Point
Saturday 2 – Sunday 3 March

Cooloolah Vehicle Access Permit required. Purchase online and print
Ferry CASH ONLY: Vehicle $7 each way. Trailers refer to website

Trip Details:
After meeting at the Moorindril street wharf, we will board the ferry at the departure time and then make our way to the beach. We will then travel in convoy up Teewah beach, cross the Leisha Track and spend the day at Double Island Point. BYO food, water, shade and beach games. This is a family friendly day / weekend at the beach to relax and catch up with your fellow Jeepers. Those who wish to may break off the convoy to set up camp at Teewah beach or alternatively set-up camp later in the day. While the official finish time is 1pm Sunday, feel free to depart at whatever time suits either Saturday or Sunday.

Camping:
Teewah Beach Camping area – camping permit required, please purchase online and print.
Note: Teewah beach camping area is located in a 15km zone between the Noosa Council boundary and Little Freshwater Creek. The camping area can only be reached by 4wd and vehicle permits are required. Facilities include bulk rubbish bins, and also in the Freshwater Day Use Area there is a portable toilet waste disposal facility, untreated tap water and cold outdoor showers. Mobile phone coverage is not available, however there is a pay phone at Freshwater camping area, just north of Teewah Beach camping area. If you do not intend to use freshwater facilities then please abide by QPWS rules with regard to Toilets, Rubbish & Waste disposal etc. Fires are allowed pending park conditions (fire bans) so BYO firewood.

March Day Trip – Mt Mee

Free

Trip Details: Starting at Laceys Creek Road in the southern end of the Park, heading north Range Road forest drive through Jacky Creek Road towards A Break, after stopping for lunch at The Gantry Picnic area, heading north along the Western Escarpment Forest Drive to drive the tracks in the north west of the park, then looping back to the Gantry to head home back through Mt Mee and Dayboro.
